BUUURN MY DREAD.

CHARGE by ~prinnydo0d on deviantART

As most of you know, i have been dedicating the better part of the last 3 weeks to my latest ps2 game, "Persona 3". I dare say it is the best RPG i've ever played on my ps2. Then again, the only other RPGs i play are those of the final fantasy franchise.
Disgaea doesn't count, its an SRPG! S IS FOR STRATEGY, DO YOU USE IT??

Anyway, i like this game because it is pretty unusual. Basically, the outline of the story is that in that town there is a time period hidden between midnight and the start of the next day that only a few people notice. They call it "The Dark Hour" and an even rarer few of those who can venture into The Dark Hour and summon "Personas" to battle evil monsters called Shadows.

Personas are basically a representation of your inner self. How do you summon these Personas? Have a look at the game trailer, and try to figure it out.

Thats right: you shoot yourself in the HEAD. Its not a real gun, but you know, it looks cooler than standing in a magic circle and waving a stick around.

Some of you may be thinking: So what, i can only fight monsters during The Dark Hour? What do i do the rest of the day? Well, you play as a high school student, so yeah, you go to school. The course of the game is over a year, and you play one day at a time. You study, you make friends, you hit on girls, etc etc. Sounds boring, but it is actually a huge bulk of the game. The more friends you make, the more powerful personas you can create via fusion. Also, the storylines of all the characters you can make friends with are really interesting. One example is that you can play an Online RPG during the weekend, and it turns out that your party member is your school teacher.

Unlike your average RPG, you don't travel the world to see different things and fight different enemies. Your goal is to climb the tower known as Tartarus, which only appears during the Dark Hour. You can more or less climb tartarus at your own pace, you can even choose not to climb it at all for weeks on end, but of course its necessary to gain levels by beating up weak shadows so you can face the bosses later on. I haven't got to the top yet, but i'm almost there :) (I'm on floor 210 btw)

Anyway, heres the opening animation. ALONG WITH KUANYI LEGENDARY KARAOKE SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE ENGLISH!

WE MUST STOP. DRINKING FUCK.
I WALK AWAY. FROM THE SUNDRESS ROOM.
WINDLESS NIGHT, MOONLIGHT MILES.
MY GHOSTLY SHADOW, TIS A LOOK FOR A BROOM.
NIGHTLY DANCE. OF BLEEDING SWORD.
REMINDS ME THAT. I STILL LIVE.

I WILL BURN MY DREAD.
I WANNA RUN AWAY, FROM THE GOD-FREE,
AND TELL HIM HOW DESPERATE I AM.
BURRN MY DREEAAAD.
I WILL BE BRINGING YOU THE ROCK TILL I SEE THE SUNLIGHT AGAIN.
I LIFT MY FACE, AND RUN TO THE SUNLIGHT.

I think thats about 50% right. First line is definitely wrong. Anyway, i love the music in the game. Jazzy! But engrishy. There's a line in another song which goes YOUR LOVE CAME ALL OVER ME. That is wrong on so many levels.

I shall end this post with the remixed version of the original theme for the Japanese expansion pack, Persona 3: FES. Its really jazzy. Love it. Still makes no sense though.
